PlainSpan LLC, a Texas-based company, operates Porchkeep. This notice covers the app, this website and support requests. Porchkeep is intended for adults eighteen and older.

Information you provide

You sign in with Apple or Google. Other members are not told which one.

Your display name appears on your profile and in conversations. Use your first name or a name you go by. It is kept until you delete your account. When you change it, the previous name goes into a private, encrypted change log. That log appears only in your export and to authorized operations handling a report or a correction. Other members can see that the name was updated recently, not what it was. The log is deleted with the account.

When you give your date of birth, it is stored once, privately. An account created before this notice may instead hold a date rebuilt from the whole-numbered age it was given, or no date at all until you supply one. Your export says which of the three applies to you. Your birthday stays private. Your profile shows your age. The date is not displayed in the app; it appears in your export. Giving a date of birth is not identity verification, and the separate adult declaration remains. The date is deleted with the account.

Porchkeep holds one verified contact email, stored encrypted. It is used to confirm the address and to deliver account notices: a welcome message, the outcome of photo review, and the receipt and updates for a report you filed. Apple private relay addresses are accepted. Accounts are never merged by email address. Optional news requires a separate choice.

You choose your city from a list and confirm the choice. No street address is collected. The app does not request device position or display people by distance.

Dating preferences are your gender, the genders you want to see, an age range and the intentions you accept. They are held privately and used only to decide who can appear to whom. This is sensitive information, so the app asks for your explicit consent before saving it and records that consent. Withdrawing the consent removes the preferences and pauses discovery; conversations, date plans and account rights remain. Your gender is not shown on your profile. The dating intention you choose for yourself is.

Optional profile details are pronouns, a short introduction, interests and languages. Each is a separate choice, appears on your profile when set, and can be edited. They are included in your export and deleted with the account.

Porchkeep stores the photos, answers, introductions, messages, recordings and date invitations you submit. It also records photo permissions, blocks, reports, agreement acceptance and account-rights requests. Profiles and messages may contain sensitive information you choose to share. A report or support request from someone else may also include information about you.

Porchkeep keeps a record of which versions of the terms, safety notices and this privacy notice were shown to you or accepted by you, and when, together with the consents you gave or withdrew. These records are kept until you delete your account and are included in your export.

Founding reservations

If you reserve founding membership, we store your email address, selected city, adult confirmation, verification status, and communication choices. A reservation does not create a public dating profile. We use this information to verify and manage your reservation, send your requested availability notice, and honor the founding offer. Optional news requires a separate choice.

The reservation page uses browser session storage to keep a scoped management credential during your visit. It is separate from an app sign-in credential. We do not place your email or access code in management URLs. You can request a new code to return later. This page does not set advertising cookies or use tracking pixels.

Unverified reservations are removed after 24 hours. Verified, unclaimed reservations are retained through their claim deadline, which is 12 months after the later of qualification or public iPhone availability. Cancelled reservations are removed through the deletion process. We retain only the minimum suppression information needed to respect email opt-outs. You can turn off news without cancelling your reservation.

How information is used

Information supports account access, discovery, conversations, safety and account rights. Discovery considers both members’ requirements. Eligible profiles are ordered using shared interests, dating intent, age-related life-stage information and exposure handling. Photos are not analyzed to score dating compatibility. Payment does not improve ranking.

Photo content and visible-face review are separate from identity verification. The current service does not perform a live face-template check. Porchkeep does not conduct criminal background checks. A birth-date declaration is not independent age verification. Read about face data.

Technical records such as sessions, push tokens, delivery attempts and security logs support operation and security. Sign-in protection may use device attestation. Infrastructure and delivery services include AWS, Apple and Google. A US audience does not mean every provider processes information only in the United States.

Who can access information

Other members can see information you make available through profiles and shared features. Private conversations and date invitations are restricted by participant and account controls. Authorized operations may process information for support, moderation, security and account rights. Restricted evidence has separate access controls. Information may be preserved or disclosed where required by applicable legal process.

Your profile stays out of discovery until you preview it and choose to publish it. Pausing discovery hides it from new discovery; it does not erase conversations or copies others already hold. Neither state makes a profile visible to visitors without an account or to search engines. Blocking can prevent further contact, but does not retract information someone has already seen.

Retention and deletion

Public removal, account deletion and stored-file removal are different operations. Account tools let you request an export or deletion. Exports can include records and available media. Deletion removes ordinary account records and starts stored-file removal; its receipt distinguishes completed and pending steps.

Some restricted safety evidence, ban-prevention records and backups can remain separately. Their retention depends on purpose and applicable requirements. Account-linked agreement receipts currently disappear with account deletion. Deletion does not remove copies held by other people. Contact privacy support about information retained in your case.

Your choices and requests

You can edit supported profile fields, change preferences or withdraw the consent behind them, pause discovery, request an export or request deletion through account tools. Email privacy@plainspan.com for other requests, including correction, an authorized-agent request or review of an earlier decision. Identify the request without including passwords or identity documents. Verification may be needed to protect your information and other people’s privacy. Applicable rights vary by jurisdiction.

Device permissions can be changed in iOS settings. Revoking a permission does not delete files already submitted. Sign-in and essential service emails do not enroll you in optional marketing.
